Description
DUCKBILL Voice Prosthesis is a sterile, patient-changeable tracheoesophageal voice prosthesis designed to restore speech following total laryngectomy. Specifically intended for patients who have been trained by their healthcare professional, the prosthesis enables convenient replacement at home while maintaining reliable tracheoesophageal voice production.
The prosthesis features a duckbill (slit) valve that opens during exhalation to direct pulmonary air into the oesophagus for speech. At the same time, the valve closes during swallowing to help reduce the passage of food and liquids into the trachea. Furthermore, the soft, medical-grade silicone construction promotes patient comfort, while the included insertion tool allows for safe and efficient prosthesis replacement.
