Description
BLOM-SINGER® TEP Dilator-Sizers are clinician and patient-use devices designed to dilate and maintain the patency of the tracheoesophageal puncture (TEP) during voice prosthesis placement or replacement. Manufactured from tapered, solid medical-grade silicone, the dilators temporarily stent the puncture tract after a voice prosthesis has been removed.
Furthermore, the dilators help prevent closure of the tracheoesophageal puncture while also reducing leakage of oesophageal contents into the trachea during swallowing. By maintaining tract patency and gently dilating the puncture, they facilitate smoother, more efficient insertion of a replacement voice prosthesis and support successful tracheoesophageal voice rehabilitation.
